Materials
What is PLA?
PLA is the most popular 3D-printing plastic. It is made largely from plant-based starches (such as corn or sugarcane), prints with crisp detail and comes in lots of colors. It is our most affordable option and a great choice for indoor items like desk accessories, decor, keychains and nameplates.
What is PETG and when should I choose it?
PETG is a tough, slightly flexible plastic related to the PET used in drinks bottles. It handles knocks, warmth and moisture better than PLA, so choose it for things that get handled a lot, live near water or outdoors (like a planter on a balcony), or ride around in a pocket. It costs about 20% more than PLA in our shop.
What is resin printing?
Resin printers harden a liquid resin with light, one very thin layer at a time. The result is a smooth surface with very fine detail, which is why we recommend it for the Robot Figurine and other display pieces. Standard resin is harder but more brittle than PETG, so it is best for display rather than rough use. It costs about 50% more than PLA.
PLA or PETG — which should I pick?
For most indoor items, PLA is the best value and looks great. Pick PETG if the item will be used hard, dropped, kept somewhere warm (like a car or sunny window) or used outdoors or around water. If fine detail matters most, consider resin.
Can printed items be used outdoors?
PETG is the best of our materials for outdoor use: it copes with sun, rain and warmth better than PLA. PLA can soften in hot sun and become brittle or fade over time outdoors. Resin can yellow and become brittle with long sun exposure, so keep resin pieces indoors. Even PETG will slowly age in strong sunlight, so outdoor items won't last forever.
Is PLA biodegradable or eco-friendly?
PLA is made from renewable plant sources, which is a plus. However, it only breaks down in industrial composting facilities — it won't compost in a garden bin or in the ground in any reasonable time. Printing to order also avoids making stock that may never be sold.
Durability, safety & care
Can I use a printed item for food or drinks?
We don't recommend it. Our prints are not certified food-safe: tiny gaps between layers can trap food and bacteria and are hard to clean, and colorants and resins aren't tested for food contact. Please treat our items as decorative or general-use — for cups, plates, utensils or food containers, use products certified as food-safe.
Are prints dishwasher- or microwave-safe?
No. Dishwasher heat can warp PLA, and even PETG and resin aren't meant for repeated hot washes. Never put a print in the microwave. Hand-wash gently in lukewarm water instead (see the cleaning question).
How much heat can a print take?
PLA starts to soften around 55–60 °C (130–140 °F) — a car dashboard in summer can be hotter than that. PETG copes with roughly 70–80 °C before softening. Resin varies, so keep resin pieces away from heat sources. In general, don't use prints near ovens, heaters, kettles or other hot things.
How strong and durable are 3D printed items?
Plenty strong for everyday use like phone stands, planters, keychains and desk items. Like wood grain, prints are a little weaker between layers than along them, and they can snap if bent hard or dropped from height onto a hard floor. PETG is the most impact-resistant of our materials; resin is the most brittle.
Can I use a print for something load-bearing or safety-related?
Please don't. Our items aren't designed or tested for safety-critical uses such as car parts, climbing or lifting gear, helmets, or anything that holds weight above people. Buy certified products for those jobs.
Are the items suitable for young children?
Our items are made as desk and decor pieces, not certified toys. Small items like keychains, figurines and gear parts can be a choking hazard, so keep them away from young children and pets, and supervise older kids.
How do I clean and care for a print?
Dust with a soft brush or dry cloth. For more cleaning, use lukewarm (not hot) water with a little mild soap, then let it air-dry. Avoid hot water, the dishwasher, harsh solvents such as acetone, and abrasive scrubbers. Keep prints out of hot cars and long periods of strong sunlight.
Is the planter waterproof?
The Geometric Planter has a drainage hole and a matching saucer, so excess water drains into the saucer. 3D prints are not guaranteed to be perfectly watertight — tiny gaps between layers can let a little moisture through over time — so it's wise to use the saucer and avoid leaving the planter standing in water. PETG is the best choice for regular watering or outdoor use.
Sizes, colors & customization
What sizes can I order?
Every item comes in Small (75%), Medium (100%), Large (150%), XL (200%). Medium (100%) is the standard design size and the percentages scale the whole item. Bigger sizes cost more than their percentage suggests because they use much more plastic and print time (size price factors: Small ×0.75, Medium ×1, Large ×2, XL ×3.5). Exact dimensions aren't listed on the site yet — if size matters, Medium is the safe default and Large or XL suits bigger spaces (for example Large for a small tablet on the phone stand).
What colors are available?
You can choose Black, White, Gray, Red, Blue, Green, Orange, Purple and Transparent. Each item is printed in one color. Transparent prints come out translucent — they glow nicely in the light but aren't glass-clear. Colors on screen can look a little different from the real plastic.
How do I add a name, initials or custom text?
Type it in the item's "Custom note" box before adding it to the cart (up to 300 characters). Short text works best — a name or 2–4 letters on a keychain, a name and title on a desk nameplate. Please double-check spelling, because the item is printed exactly as written.
Can you make a custom part from a photo?
Yes — use the Custom part page (/custom.html). Describe what you need, upload photos, a short video, a sketch or a 3D file (STL, 3MF, OBJ or STEP), choose PLA, PETG, ABS or another material, and send the request. We review it and email you a quote with a private pay link; pay through that link to accept it. Modeling/design work is quoted and billed separately, and it begins only after payment. There are no set prices for design work; each request is quoted individually. Only have a photo? The quicker Photo quote page (/photo-quote.html) takes photos, a short note and your name and email, and we reply with a quote.
Can I upload my own design or order something not in the shop?
Yes, through the Custom part page (/custom.html): upload your STL, 3MF, OBJ or STEP file (or photos and a description) and we'll email you a quote. Shop items are ordered directly in the Shop in your choice of material, color and size, with small personal touches (like text to print) in the custom note.
Can one item be printed in several colors?
Each item is printed in a single color you choose. For a colorful set, order several items in different colors — a planetary gear set or keychains in a few colors look great side by side.
Pricing & shipping
How are prices calculated?
Each item has a base price for PLA in Medium (100%): Adjustable Phone Stand $12.00, Geometric Planter $18.00, Robot Figurine $12.00, Planetary Gear Set $10.00, Custom Keychain $6.00, Custom Desk Nameplate $15.00. The price is multiplied by the material (PLA ×1, PETG ×1.2, Resin ×1.5) and by the size (Small ×0.75, Medium ×1, Large ×2, XL ×3.5), then by quantity. The price on each product card updates as you pick options, and the checkout shows the exact total.
How much is shipping?
Shipping is a flat $5.99 per order, and free when your order subtotal is $75.00 or more. The cart shows how much more you need to add to get free shipping.
Can I order more than one of something?
Yes — choose a quantity from 1 to 20 for each item configuration. For bigger quantities or many different configurations, add them as separate cart lines.
How long will my order take?
Every item is printed to order, and printing time depends on the item, size and material. We haven't published production or delivery times yet. Once your order ships, a tracking number appears on the tracking page.
Ordering & tracking
How do I place an order?
On the Shop page, pick an item and choose material, color, size, quantity and an optional custom note, then press "Add to cart". Open the cart, press Checkout, enter your contact and shipping details and place the order. You'll see an order ID like P3D-XXXXXXXX on the confirmation page, and a confirmation email is sent to the address you entered.
How do I track my order?
Open the tracking page at /track.html and enter your order ID (it looks like P3D-XXXXXXXX and is on your confirmation page and email) plus the email address you used at checkout. You'll see where your order is: Received → Printing → Shipped → Delivered, with a tracking number once it ships.
What do the order statuses mean?
Received: we have your order. Printing: it's on the printer or being finished. Shipped: it's on its way and a tracking number is shown. Delivered: it has arrived. Our team updates the status as your order moves along, and you'll also get an email when it ships.
I lost my order ID. What can I do?
Check the order confirmation email — it includes your order ID. The tracking page needs both the order ID and the email used at checkout, so we can't look orders up any other way online.
Can I change or cancel an order?
Orders can't be changed or cancelled on the website. Our order-change, return and refund policies, along with contact information, will be added to the site soon. Meanwhile you can follow your order on the tracking page.
About 3D printing
Why can I see fine lines on my print?
3D printers build objects one thin layer at a time, and on filament prints (PLA and PETG) you can often see those layers as fine horizontal lines. That's normal and part of the look. Resin prints have much finer layers, so the lines are barely visible.
What can't 3D printing do well?
It isn't the best choice for perfectly glossy, smooth finishes straight off the printer, very tiny text or paper-thin parts, food containers, items exposed to high heat, safety-critical parts, or thousands of identical cheap items (a factory mould wins there). It shines for personalized, unusual and made-to-order pieces.
How does 3D printing work, in one paragraph?
A 3D design is cut by software (a "slicer") into hundreds of thin layers. A filament printer melts a plastic strand in a hot nozzle and draws each layer on top of the last, like a very precise hot-glue gun; a resin printer hardens liquid resin with light instead. After printing, supports are removed and the part is finished. Our Learn article explains it in more detail.
